We are really excited that local artist Jane Peacock has agreed to run this unique workshop with us. We are genuinely blown away by the stunning pictures that people (mostly completely novice artists) have created on her oil classes in the past.
Jane is not only a well-known Chilterns based print artist but also a highly experienced teacher, so we are really grateful to have her as part of our Where Inspiration Blooms community of teachers.
In this 2-hour workshop, under Jane’s expert guidance, you will learn basic oil painting techniques and will leave with your very own oil painting that will include a big sky!
The main focus of this class is the sky... cloudy skies, sunsets, clouds, heavy rain clouds...you can choose whichever sky is your favourite and Jane will teach you how to capture its mystery and magic in oils.
This will be a really relaxed informal class where Jane will unlock your creativity and support you through your painting. You are very welcome to bring reference materials with you... photos, magazine images... whatever kind of sky you want to learn to capture.
Jane is a master of oil skies... some of which you can see currently in her paintings as part of a new exhibition at Discover Bucks Museum entitled 'This Fractured Land' which runs until 7th July.
Jane will take you through what materials and equipment are best for beginners as well as how to care for them (oil painting can be more tricky to clean up than water-based paints!). You will also learn basic composition techniques and tips and how to mix the right colour palettes for your piainting. Jane's a really enthusiastic and supportive teacher, so you're in very encouraging hands.
This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as those who have painted before.
