Introduction To Botanical Drawing - A Walk Through The Walled Garden

Friday 12th July, 10am to 12.30pm

£45 per person.

All materials included. Suitable for beginners.

This class will be held at The Pavilion and will include a short (but stunning walk through fields, woodland and a walled garden).

We are so delighted that local artist Jane Peacock will be joining us again this Summer for this really special workshop, which celebrates the very best of a Chiltern Hills English Summer.

In this 2-and-a-half -hour workshop, under Jane’s expert guidance, you will experiment with and learn simple drawing techniques to leave with your very own study of botanicals. Our brand new Pavilion is adjacent to fields, ancient woodlands and the local country estate, which plays host to an absolutely gorgeous walled garden. We are extremely lucky to have been granted private access to this wonderful walled oasis for a short tour by the gardener who manages the potagers vegetables and beautiful blooms.  Hopefully it will be a really lovely source of inspiration for your drawings.

Jane has been a successful working artist for many years and uses drawing as a key part of her regular practise. In this relaxed class Jane will help build on your existing drawing skills, or for anyone who hasn't picked up a pencil in many years this will be an excellent class to try your hand again. Jane's a really enthusiastic and supportive teacher, you're in very encouraging hands.

We will meet at The Pavilion before heading off across the fields, through the wood and into the garden.  We will then return to The Pavilion to pick up our pencils and capture the garden’s beautiful botanicals.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those who have been drawing for many years. Anyone who knows us, will know how much we love botanicals at Where Inspiration Blooms, so any drawings you craft in this class are bound to come in handy for future projects like lino, watercolour painting or embroidery!

All materials will be provided. For more information about Jane Peacock's work please visit her website https://janepeacock.art/

Jane is not only a well-known Chilterns based print artist but also a highly experienced teacher, so we are really grateful to have her as part of our Where Inspiration Blooms community of teachers.

For more information or if you have any questions at all please do email us on julesandcaroline@whereinspirationblooms.co.uk

This class will only be able to go ahead if we have a minimum number of 5 guests. All of our teachers are highly skilled in their fields, but being an artist isn't always a well paid profession so we hope you understand why it's important that we ensure that our teachers can afford to run each of their classes. Should the class not be able to go ahead we will contact you no less than a week before the class is due to take place and full refunds will be issued
