Do you have an art project in mind that you want to start or complete but just don’t have the experience or techniques to do it? Is there part of you that wishes you had used all those lovely art resources that you've bought but are stashed away in the cupboard because you haven’t put time aside for yourself? In our Afternoon Artists Hub we are hoping to inspire you to really embrace your creativity and fulfil your artistic dreams!

We are so lucky that we have a wonderful artist and highly experienced teacher in Jaany Ravenscroft-Hull. Jaany is an award winning artist, vastly experienced art teacher and most recently a bit of a TV celeb! (the wild card star of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2022). She is also a really warm, encouraging and very funny teacher who has an expert knowledge of how to get the very best out of her students' creative talents.

Whatever media you’d like to use…watercolours, acrylics, soft pastels, drawing pencils, mixed media…all are welcome in this class. The beauty of this regular art class is that it’s there for you to follow YOUR artistic dreams.

The idea is that you come each week, armed with an idea of what you want to paint/draw/create and you bring your own resources/mediums with you, so you have them to continue at home over the weeks (and as your desire to develop your art grows!).

Jaany is very happy to suggest which resources to buy and where to source them so don’t worry if you’re a complete beginner, you’re in safe hands.

For anyone who doesn't have a clear idea of what their end goals are, or if you simply want to explore your creativity and see how the mood takes you then Jaany will be doing a different 15 minute demonstration of something arty every week, which you can then try under her expert guidance.

If you are a complete beginner then we've just popped below a very basic list of art resources which you might find useful:

  • Selection of pencils 2B,3B, 4B, 5B, 6B or a general pack which has a selection.
  • Rubber
  • Sharpener
  • A4 Watercolour paper pad
  • Plus any resources you would like to use.
  • If you’d like to paint, please bring either a pad of Acrylic Paper or a canvas of your choice.

On your first visit to the Afternoon Artists Hub Jaany can help you plan and get ready for the next week if you have a bigger project in mind. The important thing is to join us and start your creative journey.

To learn more about Jaany's work take a look over on her instagram account.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to the Studio in Holmer Green,
