We first met the wonderfully talented Jackie Bennett back in January 2020, and although Covid delayed the start of her beautiful needlefelted birds workshops until 2022, we’ve truly never looked back. Since then, Jackie’s classes have become a firm favourite, selling out term after term, and we couldn’t be more excited to invite you to join her in making this rarely seen yet instantly recognisable little bird.
Anyone who is also a fan of Jackie Morris and Rob McFarlane's masterpiece The Lost Words will also know that the kingfisher has had many names in countryside folklore... Halcyon, Stickleback, Evening Angler and Rainbow Bird to name a few!
In this 4-and-a-half hour class, Jackie will guide you step-by-step in creating your very own kingfisher. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced crafter, Jackie’s friendly guidance makes every detail fun and achievable. Needlefelting is wonderfully relaxing, so get ready to spend a Sunday immersed in calm, creative magic—and leave with one of the UK’s most loved birds.
Needlefelting is rapidly becoming one of the UK’s hottest craft trends, loved for turning simple wool into charming, magical creations. Relaxing, addictive, and endlessly creative, it’s the perfect way to make something beautiful with your own hands—and join a crafting craze that’s capturing hearts across the country.
To make sure everyone gets the most from Jackie’s incredible skill and guidance, this class is limited to just 10 participants—so each of you can enjoy plenty of hands-on support. At Where Inspiration Blooms, we’re big fans of delicious cake! In this class, you can enjoy a choice of traditional and herbal teas from Chesham-based tea connoisseurs, Two Spoons, as well as both caffeinated and decaf coffee, with dairy and non-dairy milks to suit every preference. Our homemade cakes are always sourced from local bakers, and we make sure those who need gluten-free options aren’t left out, with carefully selected treats safe from cross-contamination — a lesson we’ve learned from Jules’ niece who is coeliac! For our one-day classes, please bring a packed lunch or contact The Hit or Miss pub across the road from us to arrange a speedy lunch. If you have any allergies, do let us know when you book so we can ensure everyone has a worry-free and enjoyable experience.
Please note that we will only be able to run this class/course if we have a minimum of 5 guests. All of our teachers are highly skilled in their fields, but being an artist isn't always a well paid profession so we hope you understand why it's important that we ensure that our teachers can afford to run each of their classes. Should the class not be able to go ahead we will contact you no less than 2 weeks before it is due to start and we will of course, offer you a full refund.
If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact us via our email julesandcaroline@whereinspirationblooms.co.uk
Thank you so much for booking onto one of our workshops — we’re really looking forward to welcoming you and hope you find your class to be a space where your inspiration can really bloom 😉
