Join us this Spring for a celebration of florals in watercolour with 2 new classes - Watercolour Spring Blossoms and Spring Bulbs.
Local artist Zoe Duncan, returns with to share her expertise in a beautiful study of spring blossoms.
In this 2 and a half hour workshop, you will learn how to capture the essence of these beautiful flowers harnessing their ethereal qualities through the use of water. You will learn how to lift off painted surfaces, with brushes, paper, sponges (or even under the tap!) allowing soft edges to appear. You will also learn how to create effects in the background using negative painting - and how a looser approach can breathe life into your work.
Depending on the weather we hope to have some beautiful examples of different blossoms for you to use as reference materials during the class. Jules (co-founder of Where Inspiration Blooms) has a 10 year old apple tree on her allotment so she will be providing some beautiful apple blossom stems for you to study.
Zoe trained at the City and Guilds London Art School, studying for a Post Grad Diploma in Sculpture and Drawing. She is a hugely experienced teacher, having taught art to adults and children for over 16 years, including as a tutor at Waterperry Gardens, at her own studio and at workshops within schools, and local art groups in both Bucks, and Oxfordshire.
As an artist, Zoe is drawn to the natural world and especially those whose movement is affected by the different elements of air and water. Zoe's work has been sold through galleries in Oxfordshire, London and Buckinghamshire and her commission work is in collections around the world, including in the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Australia and the USA so we are in very capable hands.
This class is suitable for absolute beginners, as well as more experienced painters and everyone will leave with their own blossom watercolour picture.

This class will only be able to go ahead if we have a minimum number of 5 guests. All of our teachers are highly skilled in their fields, but being an artist isn't always a well paid profession so we hope you understand why it's important that we ensure that our teachers can afford to run each of their classes. Should the class not be able to go ahead, we will contact you no less than a week before the class is due to take place, and full refunds will be issued.
