Our candle making workshops are always super popular, largely we believe because we offer you the chance to scent your candle using a handful of fragrances which have been specially created for us by professional international perfumer Ruth Mastenbroek (look her up if you get 2 secs, hetr work is amazing) but also because once you've been taught the basic techniques you can play with our materials and equipment to create your very own coloured and scented candles.
In this 90 minute jam-packed workshop, Jules Cossins (co-founder of Where Inspiration Blooms) will take you through the candle making process step-by-step. You will learn all about the different kinds of wax, melting the wax, adding wicks, different fragrance oils and colours.
Armed with a good dose of theory under your belt you will be given the opportunity to play with our materials to make your very own candles. You can either make 3 of our little lidded metal tin candles (shown here in the piccy) or you can bring along your own recycled ceramic or glass containers to trun into candles. You will also have the opportunity to make a couple of tea lights to test colours and scents.
You'll be all set for some wonderful handmade gifts for family & friends or glad to have finally found a good use for your favourite mug with the broken handle!!
All materials will be provided and no previous experience is necessary at all. All we ask is that you come in the spirit of play!
PLEASE NOTE candles can take a good few hours to really set well so any candles that have not fully set by the end of the session, can be collected later in the day or from The Studio or Pavilion on a different day.
This class will be held in our beautiful second space at The Pavilion, Penn Street, Amersham, and we’ll be delighted to welcome you there.
