We are so delighted to be able to run this extra special Family Bushcraft session during our time in Penn Street for Bucks Art Weeks. Join us for a joyful morning of nature based making with your family, where working together will create some really lovely memories .
The session will run in Penn Woods in the area adjacent to the grounds of Holy Trinity Church (so that we can use the loo, water and parking for our Bucks Art Weeks exhibition. As with all of our previous Family Bushcrafting, this session will be hosted and run by the brilliant Jools from Nature's Jewels.
Jools is an expert in so many different areas of bushcraft, nature and forest school and is a regular teacher at a number of different schools across Buckinghamshire.
Jools always comes up with brilliant activities for us in these bushcraft sessions and this one is no exception. We will be making a 'Log Hog' per pairing - a very cute little wooden piggie (as seen in the sketch!)...plus everyone will also have the chance to make their very own rustic toasting fork - perfect for camping holidays, family bbqs and bonfires.
We will be using a LOT of tools to make our pieces. We will be chopping, drilling, sawing and whittling. Jools will also bring her tools so that anyone who wants to can do some hapa zome, stick whittling and bug hunting.
There will also be a delicious mug of hot chocolate topped with cream and marshmallows for everyone (dairy & non dairy options available).
Due to the nature of this session a ratio of 1 adult to 1 child is necessary for safety reasons (i.e. tools etc.)
All children must be accompanied by an adult or teen aged 16+. This session will be running whatever the weather, so do bring waterproofs if you need them but we do have a workshop tent in the grounds so can take cover if the British Summer does its worst!
