Niki Bell is one of our most established and respected local artists (having last year been accepted into the Buckinghamshire Art Society) so we are very excited to be able to welcome her back to The Studio to lead this fabulous class.
 
In this watercolour workshop, we will explore various techniques to create a captivating cropped portrait of an owl. By using complementary colors like blue and orange, along with a variety of techniques such as clingfilm and rock salt, we will paint an expressive portrait of an owl that showcases the beauty and versatility of watercolour painting.
 
You do not need to have had any experience at all, beginners are very welcome, as are seasoned artists looking to expand their skills.
 
This really will be a wonderful class absolutely packed with techniques and skills to really help you develop your artistic style, as well as lots of relaxing painting time in our Holmer Green Studio. 
 
Niki's workshop will include:
Drawing starting points - with a main focus on shapes
Then development of lines to create character in the owl
An introduction to understanding colour, looking briefly at the colour wheel and using a limited palette
The application of paint and some key watercolour techniques
 
We will be taking a break around 12.30pm for lunch so please don't forget to bring a packed lunch with you!  We will have our usual supply of unlimited hot drinks and some delicious home made cakes (plus vegan, gluten free and Dairy-free options) but no amount of cakes will be a substitute for a real lunch (well so Jules says anyway!!!)
