We are absolutely delighted to invite you to our 8th annual luxury Christmas wreath making workshops – a much-loved tradition here at Where Inspiration Blooms and always one of the highlights of our year. This season, following the success of last year, we’ll once again be dedicating a whole room at The Pavilion entirely to embellishments, so you’ll have the joy of choosing from a dazzling array of adornments to make your wreath the most stunning in town.
Your fabulously festive workshop will be led by one of our co-founders, either Caroline Oden or Jules Cossins. Between them they have guided the making of well over a thousand wreaths in the past eight years, so you can relax in the knowledge that you are in wonderfully creative and experienced hands. Each year we challenge ourselves to go one better than the last, and this year will be no exception.
Throughout the year we’ve been keeping an eye on the best spots to forage for ivy, evergreens and other lush foliage, and we’re thrilled to be able to bring you an abundant selection of greenery sourced with care from the Penn Estate and its surrounding gardens, woodlands and hedgerows. We’ve also dried flowers from The Walled Garden at the estate and carefully gathered natural woodland treasures, fruit and berries since the summer so you’ll have a truly magical choice of sustainably sourced pieces to weave into your design.
As always, we’ve been dreaming up extra special finishing touches. From ceramic and felted adornments to delicate dried flowers and vintage finds, we’ve curated a treasure trove of embellishments, many sourced second-hand to give them new life and keep waste out of landfill. It’s the perfect mix of beauty, creativity and sustainability – everything we love about this season.
At the start of your workshop you’ll be able to choose whether you’d like to create a fully compostable wreath, using willow hoops hand-made by us, or a more traditional design on a wire frame. Whichever you choose, your wreath will be bursting with festive character and can be easily returned to the earth once the celebrations are over. All materials will be provided, though if you can bring along your own secateurs that would be wonderful. Do let us know if that’s not possible and we’ll make sure to have a pair ready for you.
The Pavilion itself will be dressed for Christmas, filled with festive music and a warm welcome. On arrival you’ll be offered your choice of mulled brews (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), locally roasted coffee, or teas from our favourite indie businesses Two Spoons and Solarbean Coffee, alongside delicious homemade Christmas treats made by our team – including our very own mulling syrup. We hope to create an atmosphere that feels like the perfect start to Christmas: joyful, creative and brimming with good cheer.
Our wreath making workshops take place at The Pavilion in Penn Street, Amersham, just across the road from the welcoming Hit or Miss pub – the perfect spot for a drink or meal if you’d like to make your session even more of a festive. If you’re coming with friends, planning to bring a bottle of bubbly or wanting to mark a special occasion, just let us know and we’ll make sure everything is set up so you can celebrate in style together.
