WEEK 2 - Friday 3rd October 1pm-4pm at The Pavilion in Penn Street, Amersham

Join Caroline & Jules for this brand-new class where you will not only be crafting a hand-built ceramic lamp, but also a gorgeous lampshade! And as if that wasn't enough your lamp base will be fired in a raku kiln...honestly this is going to be fabulous!
 
In week 1 we will be at our ceramics studio in Holmer Green - slab building our lamp bases with special raku clay. You can add extra details to your base at this point, or leave it plain and add extra interest when you glaze it.
 
We will then hold onto your lamp bases popping them through the kiln for a bisque firing before week 2.
 
In week 2 we will be over at our Pavilion in Penn Street. Here we will start the 3 hours session by glazing our bisque fired pieces from week 1 using special raku glazes.
 
Our team will then fire your glazed lamp base in a raku kiln and put through a reduction bin to complete their firing process. Meanwhile... we will be making 25cm lampshades ready for final assembly!
 
Once both components are complete we will wire up our bases, add bulbs and pop on our shade for the final reveal! Imagine carrying home a brand-new lamp that you have literally made every single part of!

This class is suitable for absolute beginners, as well as more experienced ceramicists.
Where Inspiration Blooms will supply all materials except the fabric for your lampshade.

This class will only be able to go ahead if we have a minimum number of 5 guests. All of our teachers are highly skilled in their fields, but being an artist isn't always a well paid profession so we hope you understand why it's important that we ensure that our teachers can afford to run each of their classes. Should the class not be able to go ahead we will contact you no less than a week before the class is due to take place and full refunds will be issued.
