We are really delighted to announce that local artist Jane Peacock will be returning this summer with a two-week lino printing course.
Dive into this wonderfully rewarding medium with Jane, who is not only a renowned print artist from the Chilterns but also a skilled teacher whose workshops are both generously informative and always in high demand.
In Summer 2024, we will be histing two different lino classes with Jane. These include this 2-week Reduction Lino Course and a one-off Introduction to Lino Printing workshop which is perfect for beginners or anyone interested in trying out the technique in just a single session.
Reduction lino is a method where the same lino sheet is carved repeatedly for each layer of colour, instead of using a separate lino plate for each colour or just sticking to one colour.
In the first week, Jane will expertly guide you through the fundamentals of lino printing. By the end of the session, you will have your own single-colour print. Additionally, you can experiment with blending inks to achieve an ombré effect.
In Week 2, Jane will demonstrate how to carve into your Week 1 lino piece to develop a multi-layered print.
During each of these 3-hour workshops, Jane will provide comprehensive guidance on creating your own reduction lino prints.
Jane will guide you through every step of the lino cutting process, including selecting the best materials, mastering basic tool techniques, creating various marks with your tools, planning your design and transferring it to the lino, blending colours while ink rolling, and the printing process.
This workshop caters to both beginners and individuals with previous experience in lino-printing.
