2-WEEK EVENING COURSE
Wednesday 15th & 22nd January from 7-9pm @The Studio in Holmer Green
OR
Wednesday 5th & 12th February from 7-9pm @The Studio in Holmer Green
£70 Suitable for beginners.
We've been asked for a short course in the basics of sewing (and getting to know your sewing machine) for many years now and recently have been working with Sam Slator from The Sewing Loft in Chesham to come up with the perfect solution. The first time we ran this course it sold out in record time so we are really pleased to be able to offer it again.
In this 2-Week Basic Sewing Course Sam will be demonstrating and teaching a number of simple sewing techniques that will be super useful for all of your future projects.
The course will cover (but not neccessarily in this order!):
- threading your sewing machine
- winding bobbins
- sewing machine feet and their uses
- using different stitches on machine
- button holes
- seams
- basic equipment and tools
Sam will also be available to answer all of your burning questions, like “What is the purpose of all these different feet?” or "how can I sew in a straight line?"!!
What do you need to bring
- Ideally please bring your own sewing machine (if this is a problem please contact us and we can supply one subject to how many people need one - first come first served!)
- a basic sewing kit containing thread, scissors and pins
We will supply all other materials and will be in touch once you have booked your class to discuss your machine and to make sure you have everything you need.
If you want to learn more about Sam and her work then you can follow her on Instagram or visit her website. https://www.the-sewing-loft.com/
Sam will also be running a one-day Pyjamas Workshop which is a great place to put all of your newfound skills into practise and undetake a basic dressmaking project.

This class will only be able to go ahead if we have a minimum number of 5 guests. All of our teachers are highly skilled in their fields, but being an artist isn't always a well paid profession so we hope you understand why it's important that we ensure that our teachers can afford to run each of their classes. Should the class not be able to go ahead we will contact you no less than a week before the class is due to take place and full refunds will be issued.
