Viki Jenkins is a Buckinghamshire based artist, working under her artist name ‘Thread Meditations’. She creates original embroidered artworks as well as embroidery kits and workshops.

Her work is about sharing and celebrating an uplifting connection between self and nature through the contemplative act of stitching. She is inspired by the everyday magic of ordinary moments and seasonal changes. Viki works with drawing for the preparatory stages of her process, creating expressive drawings of natural objects that will later inform embroidered work. These drawings inform her hand embroidery although the development of each embroidered piece is intuitive; she does not start with a pre-conceived idea of how the piece will look when it is finished. Hand embroidery is, by its nature, a slow and contemplative process which enables her to explore each idea through repetitive marks and carefully chosen colours. Each piece is a response to the combined uplifting effects of immersion in nature and the creative act of embroidery.
