This festive clay workshop will give you an introduction to ceramic slab-building techniques and allow you to design and create something that is both beautiful and functional.
Inthis 2-hour class, co-founder of Where Inspiration Blooms and experienced ceramicist Caroline Oden will teach you everything you need to know to make either half a dozen Christmas decorations, re-useable ceramic gift tags, coasters or a plate.
Forage in our beautiful outdoor space for leaves, seedheads or flowers or use our festive wooden printing blocks and other materials to imprint beautiful designs into your clay to create beautiful textured effects. This is a really free class where if there is something that you've seen that you really want to try that isn't even festive the feel free! In the past we have had people make items such as bowls, plates, spoons and nameplates for their houses.
We will also have a range of underglazes available on the day if you wish to add some colour to your work before it is fired.
Your best 2 pieces of work (1 piece = 6 small tags/decorations) will be bisque fired and clear glazed after the session in our studio kiln, and can be collected approximately 4 weeks after the session (just in time for the start of December).
No experience neccessary and all materials will be provided. The cost of firing and clear glazing your work is included in the price.
These sessions will be held in our new Studio in Holmer Green and limited to a maximum of 12 people to ensure that everyone gets the benefit of Caroline's time and expertise.
We very much look forward to welcoming you to our new Studio!
