Pottery Wheel Throwing Experience

Step away from the bustle of our Harvest festival to experience the timeless craft of throwing clay on a potter's wheel.

Have you always wanted to have a go on a potter's wheel? This is your chance to experience one of the oldest and most satisfying crafts in a relaxed and friendly setting.

Perfect for complete beginners, this 45-minute taster session begins with a short demonstration from our experienced pottery tutor Andrea, before it's your turn to take a seat at the wheel and discover the magic of transforming a simple lump of clay into a unique pot of your own.
Throwing a pot is far more challenging than the experts make it look on The Great Pottery Throw Down, but that's all part of the fun. Whether you've watched in fascination from your sofa or always fancied giving it a try, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience the process for yourself and learn a few of the fundamentals of wheel throwing.
At the end of your session, we'll take your pot back to our studio, where it will be professionally glazed in a colour of your choice (we will have examples you can choose from on the day) and kiln fired. Your finished piece will be ready to collect from Oxmoor Farm approximately four weeks after the festival – a lasting reminder of a very special day.

Includes: Tuition, clay, glazing and firing of one pot
