I am a pastel pencil artist based in Chesham, Bucks. Having drawn commissioned pet portraits for many years in 2017 I branched out into wildlife portraits. My husband and I were lucky enough to go to South Africa on our honeymoon and I found inspiration everywhere! My family had been suggesting for some time that I should draw wildlife portraits and take prints. I took the plunge and Anna Smallwood Art was born. I am very fortunate to have married a talented photographer who is very happy to go on wildlife centred holidays. This has meant my portfolio has been steadily growing. I enjoy capturing the animals character in my portraits. Be that the colourful tree frogs and hummingbirds of Costa Rica or the more muted tones of elephant and lion. I also try to make the most of our fabulous British wildlife especially those on my Chiltern hills doorstep.
