Friday 18th September 7pm-9.30pm
Jay Nolan-Latchford is an award-winning tutor, artist and illustrator. We’ve had so many requests and discussions with our art students about this subject matter so we are delighted to be able to offer an abstract seascape mixed media workshop.
So many of us have spent time visiting the British coastline this summer as an antidote to all the madness of 2020, so this seascape art class is the perfect opportunity to capture a sense of the freedom, tranquillity or simple beauty of our coastal wild waters. Leave your worries of the week behind you as you join us for a relaxed, fun and wonderful way to start the weekend.
In this abstract, interpretive class you will explore the amazing properties of Quink ink, combined with sea salt and metallic powders to create a really stunning painting. The workshop comprises step by step technique demonstrations with 1:1 guidance and tuition. You will leave with your very own interpretation of your seascape painted on canvas, something to look back on as we approach the winter months and hopefully be reminded of summer visits and happy memories.
This class is suitable for beginners as well as those who have attended one of Jay's sell-out workshops before.
All materials will be provided.
‘Celebrating Autumn’ Workshops
One of the main challenges that our business has faced this year is being able to run workshops with enough people to make them break even. The necessary extra cleaning and social distancing are significant challenges for Where Inspiration Blooms at The Barn. After trialling a week of workshops in July (our Wellbeing Festival) we have decided, that for the near future, to keep the business going we need to concentrate our workshops into bunches of one or two weeks so that we can hold them in a larger venue where we can have up to 12 people in the room.
Our ‘Celebrating Autumn’ Workshops will run from Friday, 11th September until Saturday 26th at Chartridge Lodge Hotel and Conference Centre (next-door to The Barn).
Autumn is such a beautiful time of year, and we want to celebrate its stunning colours and natural changes through our wonderful community of teachers and tutors. After all the stresses of 2020 so far, we hope that in our selection of workshops you will find something that you will really enjoy and that will give you some joy in these uncertain times.
Safety & Security
During these times of social distancing please rest assured that we are taking all the recommended steps to ensure maximum safety. Our indoors Autumn Workshops will be taking place in a very large conference room inside our next-door neighbours main building at Chartridge Lodge Hotel.
The room is huge, has high ceilings, plenty of windows and will allow us to set up tables 2 metres apart from each other. We know the government guidelines have reduced the 2 metre rule but it is so important to us that everyone feels safe and comfortable, especially with our workshops being all about inspiring people to do things to enhance and support their wellbeing. We strongly believe that maintaining the 2-metre distance is the right thing to do. We will also be putting in place many other safety measures.
We will be asking all of our guests to come into the building wearing masks, which they can remove once they are inside the room and we will be providing hand sanitisers on each work station and when you enter the building. A full list of all the bits we are doing will be sent out to you on an email a couple of days before the workshop.
