Friday 14th August from 10am to 4pm
£8 per person (kids under 2 are free)
If you’re looking for something outside, not too busy and a bit different to do with your family over the summer holidays then our Family Picnic Days are back! (plus, there is the added advantage that you don't have to stay up past midnight to book a decent entry time slot!!).
Our first one will be held on Friday 14th August come rain or shine. Last year these were an instant sell-out and we all had a wonderful day sitting underneath the trees watching the children running around, playing in the mud kitchen, climbing on hay bales, and hunting for bugs in the long grass.
The idea is that the children enjoy the day outside in the fresh air, using their imaginations and playing with their friends so that you can spend your time catching up with friends or family who it hasn't been possible to spend much time with over the last few months.
In these uncertain covid times we have had to make a few changes to ensure everyone's safety. We will have a portaloo on site rather than folk coming inside The Barn, and this year we will be unable to serve hot drinks so we would encourage you to bring a flask. Additionally, we would encourage you to bring hand sanitiser/wipes/anti bac etc for after you have used the portaloo.
We will however still have our mini 'hole in the wall' ice-lolly cafe to keep the little ones happy! We will be selling individually wrapped ice lollies at £1 each. You will not need to wear masks at any point during the day but totally respect your wishes if you want to wear one at the 'hole in the wall' as whoever is serving you will be wearing one.
This year, we are limiting spaces to only 60 places in total (half the amount of people we had last year), to enable grand-scale social distancing, as we know that for a lot of people who have shielding family members, or just still have anxiety around covid (like Jules!) the last thing you want to worry about is too many people!
ALL tickets must be booked in advance.
The event will run, even if it's raining! So do feel free to bring your own gazebo, tent, rain shelter or wellies if it looks damp!
This Family Picnic Day is part of our Weekend of Wild Things from 14th-16th August. To find out what other outdoor workshops and events we are running over the course of the weekend simply click here.
