Our Curated Christmas Gift Collection

So many businesses have been adversely affected by covid this year so it has been really heartening to see our local community supporting and promoting the #shoplocal message.  For the last couple of Christmases we have used our social media channels to share with you some of the businesses who we have come across but with so much more time on our hands this year, we have actually worked out how to create a whole area of our website dedicated to other local businesses!!  If you have 5 minutes do read some of their stories and, if circumstances allow support them where you can, with love Caroline & Jules x

Ruth Mastenbroek

Ruth's beautiful diffuser 'Firedance' has been The Barn's signature scent since we opened!  Ruth, along with her daughter and son run their luxury perfume and home fragrance business from Princes Risborough.

Ruth is an internationally acclaimed 'nose' having created some of the worlds most beautiful perfumes and for many years has been a huge support to Jules since her mum died.  Ruth's new Ancient Frankincense candle is really special.

Ellie Good Illustration

Ellie is a wonderful illustrator and sustainability champion, who we have worked with on numerous project since we first opened our doors.

Ellie uses her colourful, hand-drawn, painted and geometric illustrations to make sustainable homewares and paper goods, with the aim of bringing smiles to people's faces and keeping the planet happy.

Stacey, who runs Meet The Moon is a papercutting genius.  Stacey ran one of our very first workshops up at The Barn and is always a workshop sell-out.  Covid has had a big impact on her workshops this year, so we want to do as much as we can to spread the word about her beautiful handcrafted papercut illustrations and artwork.

As well as pre-cut cards, Stacey also sells templates and kits which you can use to create your own mini masterpieces.

The Artful Menders

Cathy and Emma, The Artful Menders, repair and re-purpose well-loved garments giving them a new lease of life and preventing landfill.  They can alter, mend and upcycle your clothing into keepsakes like cushions or blankets!  It's such a brilliant new business.

Do visit their website to see items made from pre-loved fabrics including cushions and furoshiki cloth for reusable gift wrapping.

We affectionately call Jay our 'artist in residence' as she is such an important part of The Barn and our WiB family.  We know that many of you have missed her wonderful art classes  this year and we also know how much she has missed teaching you all.
